Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results for targeted keywords. *
Many companies promise a certain level of SEO results that aren’t true and we view this as a false representation of the search engine marketing community. SEO by Chris does not support or condone this type of marketing and works to prove these tactics to be false. Advertisers of “Guaranteed SEO” are misleading. The only guaranteed way to be number one on search engine results is through Paid or Sponsored search results (also known as Pay-Per-Click). Paid listings serve a great purpose and properly managed can be very significant tool to increase revenue. SEO by Chris primary goal is to promote and market free organic results. Although, we can provide support and recommendations for Pay-Per-Click we advise consulting with specialized consultants.
SEO by Chris only practices approved search engine optimization methods of also known as white-hat. While we do acknowledge the less accepted methods, known as black-hat, we do not practice any of these methods. Black-hat methods have a tendency to become blacklisted or banned from search engines thus preventing long-term growth. All search engine optimization methods of SEO by Chris are tailored for long-term growth.
I grew up in the suburbs of the “Steel City,” Birmingham, Alabama. Birmingham isn’t known as a top vacation spot or for marvelous views. However, it is known for hospitality, steel, natural resources, and medical research. My most endearing traits I have taken from the Steel City are hospitality and hard work. After graduating high school I moved to southeast Alabama, and earned my Bachelors of Art degree in Political Science from Auburn University. Political Science is social marketing, not numbers marketing; meaning it is more about people than it is about statistics. In college I focused on campaign politics as the 2000 and 2004 presidential campaigns unfolded. The 2004 Presidential campaign gave rise to blogs and social media into mainstream politics. I quickly recognized the importance of these online avenues, initiating my interest in the power of online marketing.
